Enerjisa Enerji Signed UN Global Compact and is Now Listed in Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index
Adopting a holistic approach in sustainability concept, Enerjisa Enerji signed UN Global Compact and is now traded in Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index.
Enerjisa Enerji, the leading company in power distribution and retail sector in Turkey, signed UN Global Compact, which is the world's largest, voluntary, corporate sustainability initiative.
With more than 10,000 signatories including companies, NGOs and educational institutions in 160 countries, UN Global Compact supports companies to align strategies and operations with 10 universal principles on human rights, labour and environment and guides them to reach Sustainable Development Goals.
Giving priority to security of supply and uninterruptible energy issues in energy supply in its sustainability agenda, Enerjisa Enerji continues its investments to provide sustainability in energy supply; as well as its efforts to become a pioneering company in the sector in terms of energy efficiency and e-mobility.
Enerjisa Enerji continues its operations with a sustainability approach in energy sector, while also being in conformance with the global environmental and social principles in its operational processes and investing in social awareness.
Enerjisa Enerji listed in Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index
Enerjisa Enerji is now listed in Borsa Istanbul (BIST) Sustainability Index, in which only companies traded in the BIST and having high corporate sustainability performances.
Since its successful public offering in 2018, Enerjisa Enerji has been focusing on Corporate Sustainability with the goal to develop a strategic and holistic approach in terms of economic, environmental and social factors in order to create long-term values. Thus, our first Sustainability Report was published in 2019.
Established with the goal for Borsa Istanbul companies to increase their awareness, knowledge and practice on sustainability, BIST Sustainability Index assesses the companies according to criteria on environment, biodiversity, climate change, human rights, board structure, anti-corruption and health and safety.
As a result of the assessments of Ethical Investment Research Services Limited (EIRIS), an independent research company in London, 56 companies were listed in BIST Sustainability Index in 2019.
Michael Moser, Enerjisa Enerji CFO, made a statement about those accomplishments, saying that “We see sustainability as one of the key pillars of our equity story.
